2020 MASAZA CUP FINAL: Gomba Out For Revenge Against Buddu

The 2020 Masaza Cup final clash between Gomba and Buddu will take place today at St. Mary’s kitende. The final will be graced by the Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II.

Gomba have the chance to bag their 5th title and are out for revenge having lost the 2016 finals to Buddu on 6-5 penalties. Buddu are also looking for their 2nd title.

The match will be played behind the closed door with only 200 spectators allowed due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Buddu and Gomba were Muganzirwazza group together with Kabula and Ssese. Gomba and Buddu’s clash ended in a 1-1 draw and progressed to quarter-finals.

In the quarter-finals, Gomba defeated Bugerere 2-1 while Buddu registered a comfortable 2-0 victory over 3-time champions, Mawokota.

At the semi-final stage, Buddu beat 2019 Champion Bulemeezi 1-0. Gomba edged Busiro 5-4 in the penalty shoot out following a goalless draw.

Gomba is coached by Ibrahim Kirya with Davis Nnono Ssozi as his assistant. Buddu has Michael ‘Skills Lukyamuzi’, assisted by Twaha Miiro.
