FUFA Big League Playoff (Final):

Kitara FC 1-0 Kiboga Young

Hoima-based, Kitara FC has sealed their maiden promotion to the 2020/21 Uganda Premier League after defeating Kiboga Young FC 1-0 in the FUFA Big League play-off final at FUFA technical centre-Njeru.

Brian Mululi’s solo strike ensured Kitara become the first team from Hoima to gain promotion to the top flight since Hoima Busia were relegated from the Premier League in 2012.

The Hoima based side was second time lucky after they fell to Paidha Black Angels in the 2018 play-offs.

To reach the play-off final, Kitara eliminated Kataka FC in the semi-final 7-6 on penalties while Kiboga Young eliminated Ndejje University 3-1 in the other semi-final.

Kitara head coach Mark Twinamatsiko made two changes to the team that progressed from the play-off semi-final on Monday. Dennis Mbidde and Patrick Mugume starting ahead of Samuel Adibo and Vincent Kasoki.
