EeZzy On The Run As Ministry Of Health Asks UCC To Ban His Song ‘Tumbiza Sound’

As we speak, Eric Opoka aka EeZzy could be on his way to his hometown Urua after Ministry Of Health wrote to Uganda Communications Commission and Technology and National Guidance asking them to ban his hit song ‘Tumbiza Sound’ from playing on electronic and social media.

As Ugandans battled with the lockdown, EeZzy hit studios and recorded ‘Tumbiza Sound’. In the song EeZzy says they are now hard-hearted and are not going to commit suicide and die because of Corona.

EeZzy says they gave up on Corona and urged the authorities to allow them buy sanitizers, masks, enter bars and party.

He also says for the case of curfew, they should lock them in bars and open for them after curfew hours.

EeZzy asked the government to turn bars into quarantine centres and release people after mandatory days.

To the Ministry of Health, EeZzy’s song is undermining the government’s efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19 as it promotes complacency among the public.

“It has been noted with concern that there is a song being broadcasted on electronic and social media with messages contradicting the Ministry of Health standard operating procedures on Covid-19 prevention titled ’Tumbiza Sound’ by Eric Opoka aka EeZzy. The message in the song has in turn caused misinformation among different audiences and subsequently creating complacency among the public. This is therefore to request you to ban the airing of the song on all mass media channels so the public is not mislead”, Part of Ministry of Health letter to Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) reads.

Covid-19 cases are on the rise. Results of COVID-19 tests done on 13 December 2020 confirmed 234 new cases. The cumulative confirmed cases are now 27,766. 3 COVID-19 deaths registered. The total COVID-19 deaths are now 224.
