Renowned events promoter and NRM die-hard, Balaam Barugahara has offered to sponsor Muhammad Ssegirinya aka Mr. Update to go back to school and attain real academic documnets.
Balaam’s comments come days after Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) trashed the academic documents that Ssegirinya submitted to electoral Commission to contest for Kawempe North constituency.
Ssegirinya needs to go back to school and as his supporter, I am ready to pay his school fees once it is declared that he has no genuine qualifications
Balaam told NBS TV ‘Ucut’.
Balaam said it is never too late for the MP-elect to go back to school and achieve the required qualifications.
I will take him to Progressive Kasana Luwero for his O and A levels and even sponsor his run for parliament in the next election no matter his party ticket
Balaam said.
Ssegirinya who stood on the National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket defeated incumbent Latif Ssebagala in the last parliamentary election.
However, one of contestants he defeated,Sulaiman Kidandala through his lawyers Alaka and company advocate petitioned UNEB, challenging Ssegirinya’s documents.
UNEB revealed that Ssegirinya submitted documents that belong to Sarah Nampiima at O-level while at A-level, he submitted documents that belong to Maureen Nabadda.
This means that Mr. Update’s election hangs in balance and if challenged in court, he could lose Kawempe North MP seat.
