Grenade Official To Also Take DNA Test To Prove He Is Late Paul Kafeero’s Son

Grenade Official has publicly claimed to be one of the biological sons of the late Kadongo Kamu legend Prince Job Paul Kafeero .

He said that  he is ready to undergo DNA testing as part of the ongoing court‑sanctioned process to resolve the long‑standing paternity dispute.

The tests follow the recent exhumation of Kafeero’s remains to scientifically determine the lineage of more than 20 individuals who have come forward with similar claims.

Grenade Official, a popular Ugandan singer known for his Afrobeat and dancehall style, has revealed that he is among those who believe they are children of Prince Job Paul Kafeero, the celebrated Kadongo Kamu icon.

He has expressed willingness to participate in DNA testing to confirm his claim, aligning himself with the official forensic process currently underway.

Court‑ordered exhumation of Kafeero’s remains took place on Monday, June 1, 2026, under the supervision of forensic experts and law enforcement.

Samples were collected by a team led by Dr. Moses Byaruhanga, Uganda’s Chief Pathologist, and will be analyzed at the Government Analytical Laboratory and the Uganda Police Forensic Laboratory

The tests aim to resolve a 20‑year paternity dispute involving more than 20 claimants, including Grenade Official.

Kafeero, often called the “Prince of Kadongo Kamu”, is remembered for his lyrical depth and cultural influence in Ugandan music.

His death in 2007 left behind unresolved questions about his estate and family lineage. The current DNA process represents a rare intersection of music history, family legacy, and forensic science, with potential to bring closure to decades of speculation.
