Am Past That Level: Jose Chameleone Snubs Local Awards Nominations

Legendary Jose Chameleone has snubbed local Galaxy FM awards nominations saying there are some categories that he shouldn’t be competing in.
Chameleone who has been in the music industry for over 20 years, feels that if it’s not a legendary category or lifetime achievement award, he’s better off not nominated.
Recently, Galaxy FM nominated the Leone Island CEO in several categories in this year’s Zzina awards; Best Afrobeat song for his ‘Forever jam, which also received a nod in the song of the year category, Artiste of the year, and Best Fans team.
However, the ‘Basima Ogenze’ hitmaker, thanked the organisers for the recognition and efforts but told them he is past that level.
He urged them to consider young and upcoming artistes who need such space.
As i celebrate 2 Decades of nonstop entertaining, I highly appreciate everyone of us who has lifted the music spirit. Thank you and I can never stop appreciating you all. Galaxy Fm uganda in a special way you have tirelessly contributed to our music and May you continue to uplift every talents.I wish to bring in my concern as a General in this celebrated music industry. Please I wish you can next time substitute my nominations to the artistes that really work hard to be part of the Zzina awards. I don’t mean to say I don’t appreciate me part of it. But am sure so many young artistes need that space. I guess next year you’ll consider something like “Life time Achievement” where many great artistes like me belong. Congratulations all nominees
