13-time Austrian Bundesliga league champions, Red Bull Salzburg have reignited interest in Uganda Cranes forward, Farouk Miya.

Miya who plays for Turkish club Konyaspor, was supposed to join Salzburg after the 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Rwanda but the move never materialized.

Salzburg have been monitoring Miya’s progress in Europe since he snubbed them for Belgian outfit Standard Liege in 2016.

Former Uganda Cranes and Red Bull Salzburg captain, Ibrahim Sekagya tried to convince Miya but failed. Standard Liege coughed 800,000 euros to sign Miya from Vipers SC.

At Standard Liege, Miya failed to command starting place and was loaned to Mouscron in Belgium and Sabail in Azerbaijan before permanently moving to HNK Gorica in Croatia for 500,000 euros.

The 2015 FUFA Player of the Year then joined Konyaspor from HNK Gorica for 900,000 euros on August 20th, 2019 until July 20th, 2022.
