Baker Kigongo Quits NBS TV
July 1, 2023Sports scribe, Baker Kigongo has quit Naguru-summit based television station, NBS TV following years serving the sports lovers.
Baker, played football for both schools and clubs before joining NBS TV. His left foot marketed him and many had hopes in him but he never reached his full potential.
Baker Kigongo played for Masaka SS while in secondary school. Clubs started chasing for his signature and opted for Bugiri Old Timers where he spent the 2004 season before joining Police FC in 2005 and later Express FC in 2007 before he quit serious football.
He joined NBS TV until June 30th when he announced his departure. Baker did not state the reason for his untimely departure but rumour has it that he was forced out due to stiff competition.
A source who preferred anonymity, told us that when NBS TV launched NBS Sport, they wanted Cream de la Cream sports analysts. Those who have been watching Baker on NBS TV can also tell that he failed to replicate his football skills into analysis, hence forced out.
In his statement, Baker seem bitter in his departure statement and promised to spill beans in the coming months.
Well, the time has come. Today has been my last live show on @nbsportug and on @nbstv. It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all.
