Barrack Obama ‘s grandmother, Mama Sarah obama dies in kisumu.

Mama Sarah Onyango Obama, the grandmother of former US President Barrack Obama, is dead.

Her demise was confirmed by her daughter, Marsat, who told the Nation that her mother died at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital(JOOTRH), Kisumu at 4.45am on Monday.

A neighbour said she had been battling diabetes and old age for nearly two years that saw her admitted to various hospitals in Siaya and Kisumu.

Last week she was admitted at Avenue hospital before she was moved to JOOTRH on Friday where she succumbed.

The family is making arrangements to have her buried today (Monday) at the Muslim Cemetery in Kisumu.

“We are trying to see whether we shall be able to bury her today and if not, we shall bury her tomorrow,” a relative said.
