National Unity Platform (NUP) president, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has finally been released after being arrested an interrogated at Dubai.
Bobi who jetted in Dubai to perform at a charity concert to assist some of the Ugandan immigrant workers return home, was received with a rude welcome at the airport after immigration officials arrested him, confiscated his passport and phone and interrogated for 8 hours.
He claims the immigration officials were asking him about NUP leaders, their phone numbers, his family members and their contacts.
Landed in Dubai at 8:30pm. It’s now 5am. I’ve been held & interrogated for 8hrs. They asked me about NUP, it’s leaders, their phone numbers, my family members & their contacts! I have all necessary travel docs. They’ve confiscated my passport & my phone. Am literary under arrest.

Bobi says after being held for 10 hours, the immigration officials returned his passport and phone.

After 12hrs Dubai immigration finally set him free and as we speak, Bobi Wine is in preparations for the charity concert.
After 12 hrs,( 8:30pm to 9:30am) I’ve been finally allowed into Dubai. Hoping that our charity concert, which seemed to be the source of these issues, will be allowed to proceed. We’re only trying to raise awareness and assist the many Ugandan and African Immigrant workers.
