Evelyne Lagu Denied Operation, Stuck In Turkey

Evelyne Lagu is stuck in Turkey after doctors advised her that she will not undergo kidney transplant and instead told her to cough $20,000 for treatment.

Last week, Evelyne Lagu accompanied by his son, Freddie Kasavu who was willing to donate her a kidney arrived in Turkey but was told she would first undergo tests to determine if she if fit for the operation.

Today, doctors told Lagu that will not undergo Kidney transplant and her Kidney will never function normally again. That means Lagu will be undergoing routine dialysis for the rest of her life.

However, doctors advised her to get a life changer treatment worth $20,000 (Approximately Shs.72m). From the fundraising and contributions from the well-wishers, Lagu managed to get some money but as speak, she is only left with $10,000 (Approximately Shs.38m) in her wallet.

Lagu needs needs $10,000 to foot her life changing treatment. She is appealing to well-wishers help her get the remaining balance for treatment.

Lagu bas been battling with kidney problem since 2018. She sold almost all her property footing the hospital bills.

In March last year, she was admitted at Nakasero Hospital and president Museveni footed a bill of 50m. She was discharged in April, her life went back to normal again and even gained wait. Towards the end of last year, Lagu went down again.

Ugandans love Lagu, In February this year, artistes and well wishers organised a fundraising at Mesach Ssemakula’s, restaurant, Papa’s Spot in Makindye. Mama Fina contributed 20m, Pastor, Wilson Bugembe also contributed Shs2M among others.
