EXCLUSIVE: Why Bizonto Comedy Group Separated

Bizonto comedy group is mo more! The four members bitterly parted ways over money, registration and contract issues.

This comes a year after one of the founding members, Kafeero Toby aka Dr T Amale left the group to pursue solo career.

In an interview with Farouk, Jajja Zonto and Young Zonto (Simon) revealed that Sabazonto (Serwanjja) went behind their backs and registered a new group ‘Bizonto media communications company’ without their approval.

After, he asked the Bizonto comedy members to apply for jobs in the company which the shocked Jajja Zonto and Young Zonto.

As if that was not shocking enough, Sabazonto sent all members letters to apply before November 30th or miss out on the opportunity to be part of the group.

Jajja Zonto and Young Zonto refused and have started a new group named ‘New Bizonto’.

According to the pair, a song ‘Mailo land’ which is advocating for the governemt to leave mengo matters landed them in hot soup. They claim Sabazonto did not buy the idea of shooting the video and uploading it on YouTube.

Jajja Zonto insists there is no way he was going to apply to join a group where he is a founding member.

Young Zonto (Simon) disclosed that Bizonto idea was initiated by Dr T Amale. He sold the idea to Sabazonto (Serwanjja) who called a meeting and started the group of comprising of five Radio Simba employees.

By that time, they were uploading their skits on Dr T Amale’s ‘Volongoto’ YouTube and social media channels. When Dr T Amale left the group, they sat, re-organised and opened up their YouTube and social media channels.

Jajja Zonto and Young Zonto claim, Sabazonto registered the new company in order to smuggle Dr T Amale back into the group.

For now, Jajja Zonto and Young Zonto have formed a new faction ‘New Bizonto’, Kidomole and Sabazonto (Serwanjja have not commented on the separation.
