Former KCCA Manager Mike Mutebi Seals Deal To Join Vipers SC
June 22, 2021Word from Kitende indicates that former KCCA FC manager, Mike Mutebi has agreed a deal to join Vipers SC next season.
Inside sources intimated to us that Mutebi put pen to paper on a three year employment contract to replace Fred Kajoba who resigned from the role in May this year. Vipers SC Technical Director, Charles Masembe asked Kajoba to choose between club and national team. Kajoba instead opted to keep his goalkeeping coach job with the Uganda Cranes.
Mike Mutebi spent five years at KCCA FC winning 2 Uganda Premier League titles, 2 Uganda Cups, 4 Super Cups and 1 CECAFA club cup making him the most successful coach in the club’s history. He was sacked in March this year.
Mutebi managed 247 games at KCCA, winning 152, drawing 56 and lost 39. The club scored 446 and conceded 200 goals during his reign at the 13 time Uganda Premier League champions.
After Kajoba’s departure, the 4-time Uganda Premier League champions have been under the interim stewardship of Paul Kiwanuka.
Vipers are currently third on the Uganda Premier League table with 55 points in 26 games, the Kitende outfit are also in the Stanbic Uganda Cup semifinals.
