Hassan Ndugga Jailed In South Africa, Needs Help
November 28, 2021Kadongo Kamu and former Revival band singer, Hassan Ndugga is languishing in South African jail and well wishers are fundraising to rescue him.
Since president Museveni announced total ban on concerts in March 2020 due to Covid-19, most artists have been struggling since performances were their sole source of income.
Hassan Ndugga who had borrowed money to stage concerts in the villages, found himself in big trouble as money lenders started chasing after him.
This forced him to quit National Unity Platform (NUP) for NRM but later quit the ruling party after he accused Bebe Cool of chewing their dime.
In bid to survive, Ndugga turned a witch doctor and set up a shrine in Masaka.
Later, he found his way into South Africa where he was arrested for not having proper documents that permits him to stay in Cyril Ramaphosa’s land.
Sources say that Hassan Ndugga was arraigned before courts but he had no lawyer and not even a close person who would stand in for him.
After the court session, he was taken to prison. We have been told that he will be paraded before court again possibly on Monday for a second hearing.
South African-based Ugandan music promoter Twaha Musa, has started fundraising money that will enabled them hire a lawyer to rescue Ndugga out of prison.
