Former Forum For Democratic Change (FDC) president Rt. Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye officially handed over Total Energies (U) petrol station – Nsambya following 27 years running the franchise.
Kiiza Besigye, who is known as ‘people’s president’ has been heavily criticized for having ties with the NRM, with critics questioning why the government never closes his business (Petrol station).
Besigye was at one point forced to defend himself reminding Ugandans that Total is not his but rather rents it from owners.
After successfully running it for 27 years, today, Besigye announced that he handed back the Station to Total on 19 Apr 2023. Total Nsambya is now under new dealer.
The Retired Colonel noted that Total Nsambya was the only Fuel/ Service Station that he runs.
After more than 27 yrs of running Nsambya Total Station as a Dealer, I handed back the Station to Total on 19 Apr 2023. The Station has reopened under a new dealer. I thank Total Energies (U) for the partnership, while it lasted. I also thank our wonderful customers that supported us all these years and the staff who helped run the Station. Nsambya Total Station, has been the only Fuel/ Service Station that I run.
