Marcus Rashford makes Man Utd history with Brighton goal
September 27, 2020Marcus Rashford made history for Manchester United with his goal in victory at Brighton.
Rashford’s strike against Brighton & Hove Albion was the 10,000th goal in Manchester United’s history.
The 20-times champions of England started the season on 9,994 goals, having added 112 under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 2019/20, with Anthony Martial leading the way by supplying a career-best 23.
Following Donny van de Beek’s debut effort against Crystal Palace, three goals away at Luton Town on Tuesday and Rashford’s wonder-goal to make it 2-1 during in the dramatic 3-2 win at Brighton became the one that clinched the milestone.
United was formed as Newton Heath LYR Football Club in 1878, and not all records have been kept since that date. So the reality is that we probably passed the real 10,000th goal some years ago.
The current recorded tally began in 1886, with two Jack Doughty goals in a 2-2 draw against Fleetwood Rangers in the FA Cup.
This is the baddest guy around town. Hook me up so that we can share some routine infor in the area.
