Miss Uganda, Miss World Beauty Pageants Postponed, Olivier Nakakande To Keep The Crown
September 16, 2020Reigning Miss Uganda beauty queen, Olivier Nakakande will keep hold of the crown for at least another year as the 2020 edition of the pageant has been postponed to 2021 due to the ravaging Coronavirus.
According to the CEO of the pageant, Brenda Nanyonjo, they had no option but to push the pageant to next year because of the prevailing circumstances.
“On a positive note 2021 will mark ten years of the Miss Uganda franchise under Kezzi Entertainment and we look forward to a big celebration as we crown a new queen,” Nanyonjo said.

The development comes at a time when Miss World Organization, through its CEO Julia Morley had also announced that they had pushed this year’s edition of Miss World where national beauty queen compete for the world crown.
Morley announced in a statement that, “we have made the decision to delay the 70th Miss World final. Safety is paramount as we continue the fight against Covid-19. We look forward to welcoming the Miss World family to our very special celebrations next year,”
Miss World is the oldest-running international beauty pageant. It was created in the United Kingdom by Eric Morley in 1951. Since his death in 2000, Morley’s widow, Julia Morley, has co-chaired the pageant.
