Museveni Rewards Denis Onyango With Brand New Mitsubishi Pajero | PICTURES
May 7, 2021President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni rewarded retired Uganda Cranes goalkeeper and captain Denis Onyango with a brand new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport car.
Museveni and his wife Janet Kataha Museveni who is the Minister of Education and sports hosted a delegation from FUFA at State House – Entebbe yesterday and handed over a sleek Mitsubishi Pajero Sport to Onyango for his dedicated service to the national team.
Onyango flew in direct from South Africa yesterday and headed to State House accompanied by his mother and another member of the family.
After a brief chart, President Museveni handed over the car keys to Onyango.
Museveni later took to Twitter and thanked the former captain for his heroic exhibitions.
“My son Denis Onyango, Mama, Janet Museveni, myself and the entire country appreciate thank you for bringing us national pride through your heroic exhibitions on and off the pitch, in and outside the country. We wish you the best of luck.” President Museveni stated.
Onyango who plays for South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) club, Mamelodi Sundowns retired from international football on April 12th after an audio leaked online blasting the FUFA president, Moses Magogo.
He made his Uganda Cranes debut in 2005 against Cape Verde and earned 79 caps in the process.
Onyango featured at two AFCON finals in 2017 (Gabon) and 2019 that was hosted by Egypt.
The Parliament of Uganda are also planning to hold a special plenary session to recognize Onyango’s efforts.
