Nyege Nyege Festival Rescheduled, Artistes To Perform Confirmed
September 2, 2020The Nyege Nyege Festival 2020 edition has been rescheduled!
The highly attended event that usually takes place in Jinja on the first week of September will not happen this week due to Coronavirus pandemic and has been rescheduled to take place on December 3-6, 2020.
In December, the festival will see over 400 participating artistes from across the continent as well as afrocentric collectives from around the world.
Nyege Nyege festival is one of the biggest tourist attraction in Uganda generating over $2m in revenue and it has supported Jinja and Kampala hospitality places since it started.
This year’s edition is titled “Spotlight on East Africa” will host panel discussions exploring the East African music market, business meetings, as well as an in depth conversation between Camille Storm and DJ Kampire, and 14 showcases by some of East Africa’s most promising talents, featuring performances by:
Chris Kayiura (Rwanda), BenSoul (Kenya), Beenie Gunter (Uganda), Siti and the Band (Tanzania), Otim Alpha (Uganda), Benzema (Kenya), Nihiloxica (Uganda), Coco Em (Kenya), Jay Mitta & Ant Vairas (Tanzania), Duma (Kenya), Wamwiduka Band (Tanzania), Catu Diosis (Uganda), MC Yallah (Kenya) and Lamu (Uganda).
