Pr Bugingo Denies Being Introduced By Susan Makula

House of Prayer Ministries (Canan Land) senior pastor, Aloysius Bugingo has denied being introduced as husband to Suzan Makula Nantaba.
While appearing at a Police station in Kampala, Bugingo refuted all the claims saying he was invited as a guest by Makula’s family.
It should be remembered that Bugingo visited Susan Makula’s parents at their home in Kyebando on November 26th.
This was followed by the introduction ceremony that took place at Kawuku, Katabi Town Council, Wakiso District on December 7th.
After the introduction ceremony, Teddy Naluswa opened a case at Kawempe Police Station accusing her husband, Bugingo of contracting new marriage yet they are still legally married.
On December 16th, Bugingo was supposed to appear before Kawempe Police Station to answer criminal charges but asked for more time. After appearing at the station, he denied the introduction ceremony and insisted he was just invited by the Makula’s family.
On December 22, Entebbe Chief Magistrate Court charged Bugingo and Makula with three counts;
- Contracting marriage by Customary Law when already married under the Marriage Act Cap 521 contrary to Section 50 of the Marriage Act, Cap 251.
- Marriage with a person previously married contrary to section 42 of the Marriage Act, Cap 251.
- Bigamy contrary to section 153 of the penal code act, Cap 120
This was after Bwerenga LC1 Chairman confirmed that the customary marriage ceremony indeed took place.
The man of God and Makula are expected to appear before court on January 21, 2022 to answer the charges.
