RIP! Nikita Pearl Waligwa, Ugandan Girl Who Acted As Gloria In Queen Of Katwe Dies At 15

Nikita Pearl Waligwa who acted as ‘Gloria’, in Disney’s movie, Queen of Katwe, has succumbed to a brain tumor at the age of 15 this morning.
Nikita was first diagnosed with cancer in 2016.
In February 2017, she was declared cancer free but unfortunately, early last year 2019, Nikita was diagnosed with another brain tumor.
By the time of her death, she was a student of Gayaza High School.
Nikita will be laid to rest on Monday at her father’s home in Kabojja. There will also be a funeral service at Namirembe Cathedral at 3:00pm.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.
Queen Of Katwe Movie:
Queen of Katwe was released in October 7, 2016.
It was directed by Mira Nair at a budget of 15m USD.
It won Africa Movie academy award for Best young Actor, Africa Movie academy award for Best Costume design.
It starred; David Oyelowo, Lupita Nyong’o, Madina Nalwanga, Esteri Tebandeke, Peter Odeke, Sheebah Karungi, the late Nikita Pearl Waligwa and many more.
