Ronald Mayinja Finally Reveals HIV Status Following Years Of Silence

Golden Band singer, Ronald Mayinja has broken silence about his HIV status following years of speculation about his health.

Due to his weight, colour skin and being pale, many Ugandans concluded that he was HIV positive which sent him into depression.

In an interview, Mayinja disclosed that he was stigmatised and some of his close music buddies told him he was going to die.

Mayinja disclosed that one time he was back stage as he prepared to sing and one of his female fans approached him crying saying she was told he had HIV.

Over the years, Mayinja kept silent about his HIV status and finally revealed that he is HIV NEGATIVE.

Mayinja is not alone, his former Eagles Production band singer, Mesach Ssemakula has been too accused of being HIV positive.

While on urban TV, Mesach said that people have a habit of accusing others of being sick because of their appearance. He gave an example of Mayinja who he defended that he has never seen any signs and symptoms of HIV on him.

We have grown up being accused of being HIV/AIDS positive, but all in the years I’ve never seen a big or fat Mayinja or a brown Mayinja since when we were young. But they accuse the man for no reason

Ronald Mayinja has been active in politics. After joining People Power /NUP, Mayinja launched a pressure group, ‘Peace for All & All for Peace’ in January 2020. He later crossed and declared his support for the ruling party, NRM.
