Ronald Mayinja Finally Reveals Why He Fell Out With Bobi Wine
November 5, 2022Band singer, Ronald Mayinja has finally opened up on why he fell out with National Unity Platform (NUP) president, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine.
Mayinja won hearts of the opposition fanatics by singing revolutionary songs; Africa, Tuli Kubunkenke, Bizeemu among many others.
As the 2021 general elections fever hit the country, most artists wanted to contest in various political positions after witnessing Bobi Wine win Kyadondo East by-election in 2017.
When Bobi Wine launched People Power, Mayinja first joined him but later quit and started his own movement in January 2019 named ‘Peace for all, All for Peace’.
In August when NUP was receiving DP members who had crossed, Ronald Mayinja showed up, apologized to Bobi Wine and declared himself a NUP member.
He was also given NUP membership card. Mayinja’s mission was simple, he wanted to contest as Gomba member of parliament.
Unfortunately, NUP electoral committee snubbed him and gave the party card to somebody else. This angered Mayinja and crossed to NRM.
Recently, he joined Team MK (Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba) and when asked as to why he doesn’t join Bobi Wine in struggle, Mayinja said the NUP principal betrayed him.
Kyagulanyi and I believe in different things, he even went ahead and sold my card and I failed to go through the electoral process because i didn’t have the money he needed to make his presidential campaign posters, so he should take his path and let me take mine
