Kampala Lord mayor, Erias Lukwago has weighed in on Sheebah controversy and slammed the queen Karma over her style.
In May, Sheebah went public and revealed a top government official wanted to wire her in the car after she was booked to perform at a private party.
In an interview, the Lord mayor slammed the Queen Karma for her style saying it portrays her as a person who is fed up with life. He also expressed his dissatisfaction with some of the verses in Sheebah’s songs citing ‘Yolo’.
Some songs fall under categories I don’t like. Some artists have gone overboard in their songs dropping indecent verses. Take for example Sheebah’s song that says “Jangu onkoleko emikolo’ (It’s a line In her song titled ‘Yolo’. With such lyrics, people will be tempted to explore what you sing. You are exposing yourself to the public but I am not saying that she is inviting people to do that but enticing them is bad

Lukwago went ahead to advise Sheebah on a way forward in terms of branding.
“Sheebah is like Rihanna. Both artists put themselves in a compromising situation. It would have been better if they branded like Celine Dion or Toni Braxton but she chose to be like Tshala Muana not Chaka Chaka,” he added.

In December last year, Sheebah quit Team No Sleep (TNS) following 8 years of success working with Jeff Kiwa.
She has established herself as an independent artistes and launched a line of businesses; Holic pads, Red Terrace Bar and Red Events, Bought a yacht ‘Queen Karma’ cruise all under Sheebah Establishment Ltd.
Since parting ways with TNS, Sheebah has dropped songs; Nkwata Bulungi (Bailamos), Mukama Yamba, Pim Pim FT Keene Roti and Leeta featuring Ruth Ngendo.
