Former Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) president, Sophie Gombya has finally revealed why her successor, Wyclif Tugume aka Ykee Benda beefs her.
In July 2020, Sophie resigned as UMA president to concentrate on political career and paved way for her vice by then, Ykee benda who was sworn in as the president at a function held at Mestil Hotel, Nsambya in September last year.
This month, Ykee Benda stepped down as UMA president accusing Sophie Gombya of being a hypocrite and claims she should not be trusted with any office.
Ykee claims that Sophie Gombya went to state house after she had resigned and claimed she was still UMA president while pushing her own agenda.
In an interview with NBS TV, Gombya says Ykee Benda is just a jealous person who feels bad whenever fellow musicians refer to her as the UMA president.
“My misunderstandings with Ykee Benda roots from the fact that people still call me the President of UMA, yet they don’t recognize him. But it’s not my fault”, Sophie said.
