UCC Summons EeZzy Over ‘Tumbiza Sound’
December 25, 2020Regulatory body of the communications sector, Uganda communications Commission has summoned singer, Eric Opoka aka Eezy to appear for a meeting without fail over his song ‘Tumbiza Sound’.

This comes a week after Ministry of Health requested UCC to ban ‘Tumbiza Sound’ arguing that the song promotes complacency and undermines the government’s efforts to prevent the spread of Covd-19.

From the letter accessed by Routine Blast, UCC says they received a complaint against EeZzy’s song ‘Tumbiza Sound’ and wants him to appear for a meeting on Tuesday, December 29th at 12 Midday.
“The Uganda Communications Commission has received a complaint against your song, ’Tumbiza Sound’. The complainant states that the ‘Tumbiza Sound’ song contains messages contradicting the Ministry of Health Standard Operating Procedures on Covid-19 prevention. The Uganda Communications Commission here invites you to attend a meeting scheduled for Tuesday, December 29th at 12 Midday to discuss the matter”, Part of the letter from UCC to EeZzy reads.

Since Ministry of Health requested UCC to ban ‘Tumbiza Sound’, the song has so far garnered over 700k views on YouTube.
As of December 23rd, Uganda had 515 new Covid-19 cases, 245 deaths and 10,821 have recovered from the deadly virus.
So far, Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine is at 95%.
