Winnie Nwagi, real name Winnie Nkanwagi – the Swangz Avenue songstress made history last night after her fans showed her love and filled Cricket Oval Lugogo to full capacity in ‘Fire Concert’.
Nwagi joined Swangz Avenue in 2014 after she was voted second runner up at the Coca Cola rated next 2014. With her killer vocal ability, she has established herself among the top 3 female artists in Uganda.
Year after year, Winnie Nwagi has been dropping hit songs; Musawo, Janju, Katono Katono, Magic, Matala, Kano Koze among many others.
Despite her music success, Swangz Avenue had never organised her a concert.
In July, Swangz Avenue tasted Nwagi’s fans wrath after they organised Azawi a concert at Zoe Grounds – Lugogo. Azawi joined Swangz Avenue in 2018.
Nwagicians (Nwagi’s fans) and music critics blasted Swangz Avenue for over looking the Fire Baby who has proved herself as top artiste.
With immense pressure, In June, Swangz finally confirmed concert. They first failed to get a sponsor due to her antics but music promoter, KT stood in. Club Beer later came on board.
For the first time, artists have showed togetherness in pushing themselves this year. Fik Fameica, B2C, Juliana benefited from concerted efforts.
yesterday, by 5PM Cricket Oval was already half capacity. Revelers turned up in big numbers to support the controversial Winnie Nwagi.
Stepping on stage, she couldn’t believe it. Emotional Nwagi thanked fans and made a promise that she will never take them for granted.

But she needs to check herself. her controversial lifestyle is still scaring away big brands from giving her endorsements.
Nwagi is emotional, she sometimes attacks fans. Recently she exchanged bitter words with a London promoter, Mama Africa after a flopped show in the UK.
