Forensic DNA Results Confirm Only 4 Biological Children of Paul Kafeero Out Of 25

The long‑running paternity dispute surrounding the late Kadongo Kamu legend Paul Job Kafeero has reached a decisive moment. Government forensic DNA results have officially identified only four of the 25 claimants as his biological children:

• Benedicto Kafeero

• Simon Peter Kafeero

• Thomas Swaz Kafeero

• Elizabeth Nagawa

The tests were conducted following a court‑sanctioned exhumation of Kafeero’s remains earlier this month. Samples were analyzed at the Government Analytical Laboratory and the Uganda Police Forensic Laboratory, under the supervision of forensic experts led by Chief Pathologist Dr. Moses Byaruhanga.

This process was initiated to resolve decades of speculation and legal disputes over Kafeero’s estate, with more than 20 individuals claiming lineage.

Known as the “Prince of Kadongo Kamu”, Kafeero left an indelible mark on Ugandan music with his lyrical depth and cultural storytelling. His death in 2007 left unresolved questions about his family and inheritance, fueling years of contention.

The confirmation of four biological children now provides clarity, potentially reshaping the narrative around his legacy and estate.

Family members: Relief for some, disappointment for others whose claims were not validated.

Fans and cultural observers: See this as a turning point in preserving Kafeero’s heritage, ensuring his true descendants carry forward his name.

Legal impact: The ruling narrows the scope of inheritance disputes, offering closure to a case that has lingered for nearly two decades.
